Monday, July 17th:
10:30am: Escape from the Library! Mystery and fun @ Ocracoke Library. This FREE activity is part of the Summer Reading Program and open to everyone!
1pm: OPS Museum Tour – Free! Today's guide is Julie Howard.
8pm: Pirate Show at Deepwater Theater! Join Desiree Ricker, David Tweedie, Gary Mitchell, and Peyton Piquard for a fun, family-friendly analysis of the infamous character Blackbeard the Pirate. 7:30pm; doors open at 7. Read more about "Blackbeard: A Historical, Hysterical Account" here.
Tuesday, July 18th:
1pm: Birding on Ocracoke Porch Talk with Howard Bennink, Ranger, Teacher, and Business Owner @ the OPS Museum. Porch Talks are FREE, informal, and informative!
5pm: Cookbook Fundraiser on Variety Store Porch! Ocracoke School's 4th and 5th graders wrote a cookbook last year, and they're selling it to raise money for next year's field trip. Only $15 for 104 recipes!
7pm: Live Music! Bryan Mayer @ Ocracoke Oyster Co.
8pm: Live Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. This week's guest is Kim France of Ocracoke and Boone, NC. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

10am: Arrgh! Free piratical program aboard the Skipjkack Wilma Lee with Capt. Rob and Fiddler Dave!1pm: Kids Create-a-Craft program @ OPS Museum. Bring your kids and enjoy this special program – this week it's Make Your Own Pirate Flag! Suggested donation $5 for materials.
1pm: Makers Market on Silver Lake Local art, community offerings, located on the Wahab House lawn, next to Anchorage Inn. Parking at NPS lot. Weekly outdoor arts and crafts market with local and regional artisans.
5pm: Art Opening @ Down Creek Gallery featuring new paintings by Douglas Hoover. Douglas describes his new work as a continuation of what he loves to do, which is capturing "momentary impressions of the scenes around me that seem interesting of the people I meet and or see. Skylines, shorelines, or whatever it is I’m experiencing at the moment.” Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, complimentary beverages, and live musical entertainment provided by Rob King. All are welcome – expose yourself to art!
6pm: Family Movie Night @ the Library. Kids under 8 need to bring a grown-up. Movie TBA.

11am: Feel the Energy! with a fun program with Tideland (Ocracoke's electric utility) @ Ocracoke Library. This FREE program is part of the Summer Reading Program. It's shockingly fun and will leave you energized!
1pm: Porch Talk @ the OPS Museum. Learn about Pirates with Fiddler Dave Tweedie and his crew! Porch Talks are FREE, informal, informative, and fun!
3pm: Live Music! Martin Garrish & Lou Castro @ Ocracoke Oyster Company! Come out to hear some amazing guitar playing, 3–6pm
6pm: Wine tasting at Zillie's Island Pantry! Summer wine tastings take place every Thursday and Friday at 6pm, and pair five great wines with delicious hors d'oeuvres from the pantry. Space is limited, so make a reservation, and sign up at zillies.com.

9am: Rumor has it that the DMV will be on Ocracoke! Stop by the Fire Hall between 9am-Noon and see if they made it! If you have biz with the DMV, get there as early as possible. FYI: you can renew your driver's license up to 6 months before it expires.
10am: Free program aboard the Skipjack Wilma Lee! Learn about the Anatomy of a Boat with Tom Pahl. Free and family-friendly!
10am: Storytime @ Ocracoke Library! Ages 0-Up because everyone LOVES a good story! Join us in the library for stories and fun! This event is open to the public, visitors and locals alike!
