NPS volunteers and rangers open the Ocracoke Lighthouse a couple of times a week. (You can go in, but not up!) Stop by the NPS Visitor Center for specific times or check the Current's Facebook page.
Ocracoke Friends of the Library Used Book Sale is still going on! Stop by during regular library hours: Monday–Friday, 3–7pm, and Saturday, 9am-1pm. All proceeds benefit our wonderful little library!
10:30am: Escape from the Library! Mystery and fun @ Ocracoke Library. This FREE activity is part of the Summer Reading Program and open to everyone!

8pm: Pirate Show at Deepwater Theater! Join Desiree Ricker, David Tweedie, Gary Mitchell, and Peyton Piquard for a fun, family-friendly analysis of the infamous character Blackbeard the Pirate. 7:30pm; doors open at 7. Read more about "Blackbeard: A Historical, Hysterical Account" here.
1pm: Birding on Ocracoke Porch Talk with Howard Bennink, Ranger, Teacher, and Business Owner @ the OPS Museum. Porch Talks are FREE, informal, and informative!
5pm: Cookbook Fundraiser on Variety Store Porch! Ocracoke School's 4th and 5th graders wrote a cookbook last year, and they're selling it to raise money for next year's field trip. Only $15 for 104 recipes!
7pm: Live Music! Bryan Mayer @ Ocracoke Oyster Co.
8pm: Live Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. This week's guest is Kim France of Ocracoke and Boone, NC. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
1pm: Kids Create-a-Craft program @ OPS Museum. Bring your kids and enjoy this special program – this week it's Make Your Own Pirate Flag! Suggested donation $5 for materials.
1pm: Makers Market on Silver Lake Local art, community offerings, located on the Wahab House lawn, next to Anchorage Inn. Parking at NPS lot. Weekly outdoor arts and crafts market with local and regional artisans.
5pm: Art Opening @ Down Creek Gallery featuring new paintings by Douglas Hoover. Douglas describes his new work as a continuation of what he loves to do, which is capturing "momentary impressions of the scenes around me that seem interesting of the people I meet and or see. Skylines, shorelines, or whatever it is I’m experiencing at the moment.” Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, complimentary beverages, and live musical entertainment provided by Rob King. All are welcome – expose yourself to art!
6pm: Family Movie Night @ the Library. Kids under 8 need to bring a grown-up. Movie TBA.
