Golden LEAF Foundation Grants 200K to Hyde County Schools

The Golden LEAF grant award supports the implementation of the Hyde County Schools 1:1 Chromebook Initiative.  This innovative project provides personal technology to every Hyde County Schools middle, high school and early college student in grades 6-13 enrolled at Mattamuskeet Early College High School in Swan Quarter, NC and Ocracoke School located on Ocracoke Island. The Golden LEAF award also generously supports state-of-the-art professional development in digital learning and coaching to all Hyde County Schools teachers working with students in grades 6-13 and is provided by faculty members from the Friday Institute at North Carolina State University.

The implementation of this program will provide Hyde County Schools with Chromebooks for students in grades 6-13 and prepare teachers to effectively utilize technology to improve teaching and learning so that all students are prepared to graduate ready for college or careers.”
