The Golden LEAF award also generously supports state-of-the-art professional development in digital learning and coaching to all Hyde County Schools teachers working with students in grades 6-13 and is provided by faculty members from the Friday Institute at North Carolina State University.
“The Golden LEAF Foundation supports programs that demonstrate promise in growing the talent, knowledge and skills of our youth, especially in the rural areas of our state,” said Dan Gerlach, Golden LEAF president. “The Hyde County Schools’ project is dedicated to transforming their classrooms into 21st century digital learning environments. The implementation of this program will provide Hyde County Schools with Chromebooks for students in grades 6-13 and prepare teachers to effectively utilize technology to improve teaching and learning so that all students are prepared to graduate ready for college or careers.”
