Blackbeard Auditions to be Held February 22nd

The auditions are from 3pm-5pm on Feb 22 at the Ocracoke Community Center. Directors Desiree Ricker and Charles Temple request that everyone arrive at 3pm for group movement and singing. The cast and scenes are listed below.

BLACKBEARD – Captain of the Adventure

WILLIAM HOWARD – Blackbeard’s quartermaster

EZEKIEL JONES – ship’s cook

RICHARD EVANS – a young pirate

HELMSMAN

SAILORS – three or four required

CABIN BOY

OLIVER FARTHINGHAM – watchman of Ocracoke village

VICTORIA FARTHINGHAM – Oliver’s wife

ELIZABETH FARTHINGHAM – Oliver’s older daughter

KATHERINE FARTHINGHAM – Oliver’s younger daughter

MISS EUPHEMIA – Ocracoke boardinghouse proprietress

MARJORIE O’NEAL – boardinghouse cook

RACHEL, ABBY, SUZANNAH, ELLEN - boardinghouse girls

SCULLERY MAID

Additional VILLAGE GIRLS (non-speaking roles) may be cast; likewise, the number of SAILORS may be increased.

The story is set in Ocracoke, NC, November 21 and 22, 1718.

ACT I

Scene 1  On board Blackbeard’s ship, the Adventure

ACT II

Scene 1  Euphemia’s Boardinghouse parlor, that evening

Scene 2  Elizabeth Farthingham’s bedroom, that evening

Scene 3  Euphemia’s Boardinghouse parlor, later that evening

ACT III

Scene 1  On board the Adventure, very early the next morning

Scene 2  On board the Adventure, towards dawn that same morning
