Bring your best recipe to the 1st annual Ocracoke Child Care Chili Cook-off Fundraiser!

On Super Bowl Sunday (February 2nd) Ocracoke Child Care is hosting the 1st annual Chili Cook-off at the Ocracoke Station/Beachcomber Campground (behind the gas station). OCC will award prizes for categories such as: Most Unique, Crowd Favorite, Spiciest, Best-in-Show, and Best Alternative (no beef, vegetarian, chicken, etc.)...

Enter your famous chili for just $15 (all proceeds benefit OCC – what a great cause! Pre-register by stopping by OCC or mailing your entry fee to OCC at PO BOX 284. Registration for entries the day of the cook-off are $20.

OCC wants this to be a real cook-off competition with chefs battling it out on-site. Please bring all of your ingredients, your own extension cords, cooking utensils, crock-pot/burners, (electrical outlets will be available) and show off your cooking skills! You can even bring your own grill.

If you must, you may cook your ingredients at home and bring your chili to the event pre-cooked.

You do not need to make a large amount unless you want to; a normal family-of-6 size pot o' chili is fine – just
as long as there's enough for the judges!

Chili tasters can pay $5 to enter sample a few recipes. (Children under 10 are free).

Campground gates will open at 11am to the public. The gas station will be open all day if people want to eat lunch or get
a drink there.

All this, and there'll be a bake sale! Because what is an Ocracoke event without a bake sale?

Judging will be at 2:30pm.

Come out and spend Super Bowl Sunday with OCC, tasting some homemade chili, listening to live music, and enjoying some fun, friendly competition!
