Commissioners Vote to Extend Contract for Manager Rich

Press Release
On Monday January 6, 2014, the Hyde County Board of Commissioners voted to renew Bill Rich's contract as Hyde County Manager through June 2018.
Rich began work as County Manager on March 1, 2013, splitting his time between mainland Hyde and Ocracoke.

After nine months as County Manager, Rich has worked enthusiastically to improve the quality of life on both sides of the Sound by strengthening regional partners, securing funding, and increasing awareness of Hyde County's many assets.  As part of his dedication to his work with the County, Rich is in the process of completing the UNC School of Government's Municipal & County Administration continuing education course.  The program will improve Rich's understanding of government processes and requirements while increasing his peer network.

The Board of Commissioners' decision to extend Rich's contract through 2018 will help ensure the continuity of dependable leadership and provide stability to Hyde County projects and programs.   Manager Rich's extended contract will be available shortly on the Administration Department's page, http://www.hydecountync.gov/departments/administration/index.php.
