Ferry Routes Along NC Coast Suspending Operations Ahead of Hurricane Sandy
In addition, the 1 p.m. departure of the Ocracoke/Cedar Island ferry will be delayed until 2 p.m.
Earlier this morning, ferry operations on the Hatteras Inlet route were suspended due to high water over N.C.12 in Ocracoke. NCDOT remains on alert and ready to activate emergency operations as needed.
While other ferry routes will run according to regular schedule as long as possible, additional operations will likely be suspended as conditions deteriorate. Operations will return to normal as soon as conditions are deemed safe.
