The fundraiser supports the work of WOVV 90.1 fm, Ocracoke's non-commercial radio station, which serves Ocracoke and its visitors with a community-enhancing medium of education, information, civic discourse and entertainment.   The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will also benefit from funds raised.

The Community Square will be transformed into a wrasslin' arena where costumed characters like Dora the Destroyer, Princess Slayer, June Cleavage, Babe Ruthless and Pat Minotaur flex their muscles and compete with good-natured intensity.  Professional arm wrestler Giles Russell will serve as referee.

Come early to get the best seats!  Doors open at 6:30 p.m., following a pre-party at SmacNally's at the Anchorage Marina that starts at 5 p.m.  Admission is $10.  Competitors pay $8, and all WOVV members get in for $5.  Vendors will sell hot dogs, ice cream and drinks.  Those of legal drinking age can visit the beer garden, where brews from donor the Outer Banks Brewing Station will be sold.  The Ocracoke Variety Store is also a sponsor of the event.

Arm wrestlers can pre-register at wovv.org or sign up between 6:30 - 7 p.m. on Friday
