This grassroots effort is spearheaded by Ocracoke resident Angie Todd who recently took to social media to suggest a clean-up day for the island. Her initial request was met with great enthusiasm, so now – it's official!

Angie will set up outside the Community Center on Sunday morning at 10 to hand out trash bags and gloves. If you need an assigned area to clean, she'll give you one. (Several people have already spoken for some sections of the village or Hwy 12.)

The more the merrier!

Angie's also hoping for a wide angle photo of volunteers with their bags of trash. Meet back at the Community Center parking lot at Noon for the photo op.
