Vote Early on Ocracoke

Sundae Horn, Press Release

Ocracoke One-Stop early voting is February 20-21 for the primary election.

The North Carolina 2020 primary election will be Tuesday, March 3rd. The Ocracoke polling station (the Fire Department) will be open at 6am for you to cast your vote in the Democratic, Republican, Green, Constitutional, or Libertarian party primary.

Early One-Stop Voting will be February 20th and 21st, also at the Fire Department, from 8am-5pm. "One-Stop" means you can register and vote all at the same time!

Voters will not be required to show photo ID for the March 3, 2020 primary election. In a December 31 order, a federal district court blocked North Carolina’s voter photo ID requirement from taking effect. The injunction will remain in place until further order of the court.

For online voter registration applications visit https://www.ncsbe.gov/Portals/0/Forms/NCVoterRegForm06W.pdf You can also register to vote while at the DMV.

To request an application by mail you can call the Hyde County Elections Office at (252) 926-4194 or email a request to Viola Williams.

Hint: voting registration and voting records are public information. Wondering if your new crush votes? The NC State Board of Elections voter look-up page (above) will tell you! My adult kids know I will check that they voted this year before I shop for Christmas presents.
