Monday, February 10th:
9am: The Red Cross Disaster Relief @ Masonic Lodge: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. through Tuesday (Feb. 9 to 11). The Red Cross will continue assessing how they may provide assistance to those whose homes have been demolished or majorly damaged by Hurricane Dorian. Go and see them if your PRIMARY RESIDENCE was flooded, even if you were renting.
Tuesday, February 11th:

9am: Ocracoke TDA meeting @ Community Center. Ocracoke Tourism Development Authority will meet to discuss taking over the tourism promotion from OCBA. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.
4:30pm: Post-Dorian Support Group meeting @ Lightship Realty: Free support group for grief and loss. All residents are welcome. With the holidays there will be more acute feelings of loss for many on the island. Our recovery from Dorian continues to influence how we respond to daily events on the island. Sharing space with others in a safe, supportive environment and talking about the challenges and learning tools for coping can make a difference. Facilitated by Ruth Fordon and Desiree Ricker.
5:30pm: Ocracoke Planning Board meeting @ Community Center. There will be discussion on several issues of hardship based on hurricane Dorian and how it pertains to the Ocracoke development ordinance. The agenda is posted in the post office. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.
Wednesday, February 12th:
6pm: OCBA Civic Affairs meeting @ Community Center. All are welcome to this discussion of local issues. Agenda:
*Hear from Ocracoke’s Nonprofits during a special session with leaders and representatives from these organizations.
*Get updates from the OIIRT on recovery efforts and future plans
*Commissioner Tom Pahl will be giving updates from Hyde County
*Meet some members of the newly formed Ocracoke Housing Coalition and hear about recent discussions of this group.
Thursday, February 13th:
9:30am: Toddler Reading Group @ Books to Be Red. Valentine stories and crafts!
Friday, February 14th:
Happy Valentine's Day!
10am: 2020 Census Job information @ Community Center. Drop-in, 10am-2pm.
6pm: Wine Tasting @ Zillie's: Love is in the air at Zillie’s. At this year's Valentine’s Tasting, five beautiful romantic wines will be carefully prepared with savory and sweet incredible treats. Limited space available for this Special Wine Tasting. Each ticket is $20 plus tax. Make your reservation at zillies.com.
Saturday, February 15th:
12noon: Warming Center/Open House @ OUMC Rec Hall: We will be open 12pm-5pm. Coffee and treats... and plenty of games, books, and friendly conversation for everyone who wants to stop by and say Hi. Organized by Meredith Rollman.
7:30pm: "Love Letters" play @ Community Center. FREE theater for Ocracoke! Performers Wally & Maria Hurst are coming from the Raleigh/Durham area for this special event. The show will be performed at the Ocracoke Community Center at 7:30 PM on Saturday, Feb 15 (the day after Valentine's Day). No charge for tickets, however, seating is limited & reservations recommended. Donations are being accepted to benefit residents affected by Dorian. The play may not be engaging for children under age 16. For reservations click this link.
Sunday, February 16th:
Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (9am @ Rec Hall) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
