January 25 Art Auction to Benefit OPS
All are welcome to come out for an evening of fun, food, and friendly bidding fights!
The silent auction accompanied by a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception will be at the Community Center on Saturday, January 25th, 5–7pm.
"We're hoping for a good turnout this year," said Andrea Powers, Ocracoke Preservation Society's executive director. "It will be different not having the auction in the Museum [because of hurricane damage to the building], but we'll still have fun. We're looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying the auction."
The art pieces, sent in by amateur and professional artists of all ages, will be on display for bidding. To get a sneak peak of what's available, check out the 2020 Art Auction Photo Folder on the OPS Facebook page.
If you can't be on the island for the big event, you're in luck! Online bidding has already started for the Art Auction.
If you have a bid you want to place, please email Andrea at admin@ocracokepreservation.org. Make sure you include the number, title, and amount you want to bid. She will update the bids in the comments section of the pieces of art. (No bids will be accepted on the comment section or by message... only through email.) Bids will be posted to each picture so you can follow your bid and keep up with the ones you want to bid on.
Keep checking the 2020 Art Auction Photo Folder for new pieces to be added as we receive them. Online bids will be accepted until noon on the day of the event.
Repairs to the OPS Museum are underway, and they hope to open for the season in mid-March.
