Tom Pahl Not Seeking Re-Election

Tom Pahl Not Seeking Re-Election

If you want to be Ocracoke's commissioner, the time to sign up is now.

Ocracoke's representative on the Hyde County Board of Commissioners, Tom Pahl, has formally announced that he won't seek re-election in 2020.

Tom was elected to the Hyde BOC when he ran unopposed in the 2016 election and took 100% of the votes. Earlier in the year, he won the Democratic primary, beating incumbent commissioner John Fletcher.

Tom told me last year that he wouldn't seek another term as commissioner, saying he would be done when Trump is.

The filing period for the November 2020 election is December 2-20, 2019. For more information, call the Hyde County Board of Elections office at 252-926-4194, during their regular business hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
