The Fig Festival committee is also accepting applications for festival vendors.

This free, family-friendly event takes place on the grounds of the OPS Museum on August 16-17, 2019.

The Ocracoke Fig Festival is seeking sponsors for the annual celebration of “Ocracoke’s Sweetest Tradition.”

The showpiece of the Fig Festival is the Fig Cake Bake-Off on Saturday afternoon, which is surrounded by fun and tasty events before and after. Friday night features a traditional Ocracoke Square Dance and the Fig Preserves Tasting Contest. Saturday begins early with vendor booths, live music all day long, activities for children, and Museum Porch Talks about figs and fig culture on Ocracoke. A dance with the Ocracoke Rockers & Friends on Saturday evening at the Berkley Barn provides a fun summer tradition for all ages.

The Fig Festival is a fundraiser for Ocracoke Preservation Society, which provides programming and events throughout the year. Your sponsorship will help to ensure that the Fig Festival can continue to educate and entertain for years to come.

They are accepting applications for artisans and food vendors with the requirement that at least 50% of available items be fig-related. Past vendors have offered fig trees, artwork, photographs, books, preserves, cakes, tea and botanicals, aprons, tea towels, tee shirts, and pottery. Anything goes, as long as it’s figgy. A vendor application is available on the OPS website,
