Spring is springing!

Despite our gloomy, gale-y near-winter weather early this week, the season really is a-changin'. So many businesses are open or opening soon!

Check out our Who's Open page to keep you up to date on where to sleep, eat, shop, and play during the spring. 

Monday, April 1st:

Our favorite news day of the whole year! Thanks for making it fun!

This is no joke: Dajio Restaurant and Wheelie Fun Golf Cart Rentals open for the season today.

6pm: Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting @ Community Center (by video conferencing). All are welcome.  

Tuesday, April 2nd: 

Yucky weather! Today's away baseball game was cancelled. What else is going on? 

6pm: Parent meeting @ Ocracoke School with Supt. Basnight. Meet in the Commons. 

Wednesday, April 3rd:  

7pm: Island Trivia @ Gaffer's. Just $2 to play and heckle Luke and Charles, your trivia masters of ceremony. Proceeds go to a good cause. Show off how smart you are! 

Thursday, April 4th:

2pm: S.T.E.A.M. Fair @ Ocracoke School in the school gym. Smart kids, great projects. 

4:30pm: HOME Varsity Baseball game @ Community Park. Go Dolphins! 

7pm: Ocracoke Island Decoy Carver's Guild meeting @ Community Center. All are welcome. 

Friday, April 5th:

Caffeine is good! Ocracoke Coffee Co. opens for the season at 7am.

Saturday, April 6th:

11am: Family Preschool Storytime @ Ocracoke Library! Ms. Claire will lead the storytimes and crafts, which alternate between English and Spanish. This week is Spanish; all are welcome to this free program. This will be the last week of Ms Claire's Storytime this spring. 

Noon: Beta Club 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Fundraiser @ Ocracoke School gym. 11:30am sign-up. All players must be in 8th grade & up. Adults and off-islanders welcome to join in. $15 per team; teams can be male/female mixed. Proceeds benefit high school Beta Club service projects. Come out and watch! 

6pm: Martin & Friends @ Ocracoke Oyster Co. Great music with Ocracoke's own guitar hero Martin Garrish and his favorite local musicians. 

Sunday, March 7th: 

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Taize service 7am; Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
