Ocracoke Health Center Plans Diabetes Day for Community

According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2015, 30.3 million people in the United States had diabetes. 7.2 million, or almost 24% of those did not know they were diabetic. About 1.5 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed every year.1

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018 special appointments will be available from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm for Diabetics, Pre-diabetics and those concerned about diabetes.  Call 252-928-1511 to schedule appointments or with any questions.

The community is invited to come by without an appointment from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm for education, snacks, and giveaways. 

The goal of the event is to provide education for both prevention and treatment of diabetes. Small changes can make a big difference in diabetes.
