Our Books Go On And On
Every day at the library
I see books, I feel books
That is how I know the book sale will go on
Far across the island
And along Back Road
You have come to see the book sale go on
Near, far, wherever you are
Stop by – the book sale does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in the library and the books will go on and on
Books can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love is when you read them
One true time you read them
In the library, books always go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe the book sale does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in the library and the books will go on and on
You're here, buy books and we'll cheer
Cause we know that the books will go on
We'll stay forever this way
We have tables of books and the books will go on and on
Ocracoke Friends of the Library's annual used book sale began with a bang on July 3rd with an all-day sale event. Since then, the book sale has been open whenever the library is: Monday-Friday, 3-7pm, and Saturday, 9am-1pm. With a record number of books donated this year, the Friends of the Library dropped prices as of July 16th to a mere $1 per book! (Just 50 cents for kids' books). There are hundreds of titles left!
Full disclosure: The Ocracoke Current's editor, Sundae Horn, is also Ocracoke's community librarian. Please stop by, say hi, and adopt some used books!
