Summer is in full swing!

Deepwater Theater begins summer schedule this week; OPS begins summer programs.

Porch Talks, Museum Tours, and Kids' Crafts begin this week at the Ocracoke Preservation Society Museum. Deepwater Theater on School Road begins their summer schedule with two shows each week, The Dingbatter's Guide to Ocracoke on Wednesdays, and Molasses Creek in concert on Thursdays. National Park Service interpretive programs run until Labor Day.

Monday, June 4th:

1pm: Museum Tour @ OPS. Learn about Ocracoke history and culture with a tour of the exhibits. FREE.

Tuesday, June 5th: 

8:30am: NPS Cast Netting More info @ NPS Visitor Center

1pm: Porch Talk @ OPS Museum: "History of Quilting on Ocracoke" Join Amy Howard and Ann Borland for an interesting talk on quilting on Ocracoke. Quilting has a long, rich history on the island. Porch Talks are FREE, informal, informative, and fun! 

2:30pm: NPS Ocracoke History More info @ NPS Visitor Center

6pm: Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting @ Community Center. Click here to view agenda and packets. The meeting will take place via teleconferencing equipment in the Hyde County Government Center Multi-Use Room and in the Ocracoke Community Center. 

7pm: Island Trivia @ Gaffer's. $2 to play, proceeds will benefit Ocracoke School Alumni Association. Come out and show off how smart you are!

8pm: Live Music! Coyote Plus One begins this week! The Coyote Music Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. This week's special guest is Ocracoke's own badass Kate McNally. More info at www.coyotemusic.ne$15 adults/$7 kids under 12. Doors open at 7:30pm. Bring your own refreshments; soft drinks and water available for purchase. 

Wednesday, June 6th:

1pm: Kids Create-a-Craft program @ OPS Museum. This week's theme is Quilting for Kids! Bring your kids and enjoy this special program. Suggested donation $5 for materials.

2:30pm NPS Pirates More info @ NPS Visitor Center

4pm: Ocracoke Occupancy Tax Board Meeting @ Ocracoke Community Center. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide a forum to discuss possible uses of excess occupancy tax reserve funds. Individual funding requests will not be addressed at this meeting. Open to public. 

4:30pm: Art Opening @ Down Creek Gallery. All are welcome! Enjoy snacks from Zillie's Island Pantry, live musical entertainment by Raygun Ruby, and 1718 Brewery beer. Featured artists are Roy Revels, Robert Chestnut, Sarah Searight, and Douglas Hoover. 4:30–7:30pm. Expose yourself to art!

8pm: Live Music @ the Coyote Music Den! The Coyote Music Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote: Just We Two" (just Marcy and Lou!) at 8pm every Wednesday night. $15 adults/$7 kids under 12. 8pm: Dingbatter's Guide to Ocracoke @ Deepwater Theater. This new comedy-skit show is the ultimate guide for Ocracoke visitors (and residents) of all ages! Join Desiree Ricker, David Tweedie, Gary Mitchell, and Peyton Piquard for answers to all your burning questions. Admission. Doors open at 7:30pm.

Thursday, June 7th:

10:30am Donald Davis Storyteller @ the OPS Museum. Porch Talks are FREE, informal, informative, and fun! 

2:30pm: NPS Barrier Islands More info @ NPS Visitor Center

4pm: Ocracoke's First Annual Intra-Island Little League Championship of the World Ocracoke teams mix it up for this fun game! Concessions will eliminate the need to make dinner. Come out and support the kids and Community Park!

6pm: Wine tasting at Zillie's Island Pantry! Wine tastings take place every Thursday @ 6pm, and pair five great wines with delicious hors d'oeuvres from the pantry. Space is limited, so make a reservation, and sign up at zillies.com.

8pm: Live Music! Raygun Ruby @ Dajio, 8–11pm

8pm: Molasses Creek in concert every Thursday at 8pm @ Deepwater Theater. Doors open at 7:30pm. Reserve your tickets online at molassescreek.com

Friday, June 8th:

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
