Monday, October 30th:
5:30pm: Tourism Development Authority (2% occupancy tax board) meeting @ Community Center. The public is welcome to attend.
6pm: Mosquito Control Board meeting @ Fire Hall. Public is welcome to attend.
7pm: Piñata-Making Workshop @ Deepwater Theater. Everyone is welcome to join - all necesary materials will be provided! Start at 7:00pm with Olga teaching the basics. Our second one will be on Thursday, November 2nd. Deepwater will open its doors in the afternoons leading to the festival so that individuals can work on their piece. The piñatas will be displayed during the day of the Festival Latino de Ocracoke on November 11th to allow the audience to vote for their favorite.
Tuesday, October 31st:
Happy Halloween! There's a movement afoot on the island to get kids to Trick or Treat off the beaten path of the Lighthouse Loop and onto some of the less-traveled village streets. Try Back Road or Howard Street! The Great Pumpkin told us that full-size candy bars are yours for the taking if you venture down Sand Dollar Road. Look for the Candy Here signs or front porch lights. Trick or Treating starts before dark and ends when the eggers come out.
8pm: All Alone & Lonely: An Evening of Haunting Appalachian Folklore @ Coyote Music Den. This is a one-woman show starring local songstress Jenni Starr. Doors open at 7:30pm. Seating is limited. $10 admission.
Wednesday, November 1st:
6:30pm: Youth Choir Practice @ the Methodist Church. Open to all Ocracoke middle and high school students.
7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. No charge, but donations welcome.
Thursday, November 2nd:

Friday, November 3rd:
7:30pm: Live Music at the Coyote Music Den! The Coyote Music Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night through November. Beloved island native Martin Garrish shares songs – "signposts of life" – and enchanting stories about growing up on Ocracoke. $15 for adults/$7 for kids under 12. Today is the last day of the season for Howard's Pub.
10:30am: Lunch Fundraiser @ Methodist Church Rec Hall Proceeds will benefit Ocracoke School's 4th and 5th grade field trips. The 5th grade class cookbook will also be available!
6pm: "Queen of the Festival' Presentation @ Deepwater Theater. Each contestant will give a presentation of the state/region of Mexico she is representing, and then the amount of money collected by each participant will be counted. The girl who has raised the most amount of money will be crowned the Queen of the Festival Latino de Ocracoke! Please come to meet the girls and support the Festival!
6:30pm: Live Music! Martin & Lou @ Oyster Co. 6:30-9:30pm
Sunday, November 5th:
2am: Daylight Saving Time Ends! Set your clocks back by one hour.
Services at both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 7pm).
Noon: Fish Fry Fundraiser for Lady Dolphins Basketball team! 12–3pm @ Ocracoke Seafood Company (a.k.a. the Fish House). Fried flounder dinner and baked sale! Yum!

Graceful Bakery Fall Hours 7am-12pm, Tuesday through Sunday
Gaffer's Sports Pub: Fall Hours: Mon–Wed 11am til 12am; Thurs–Sun 8am til 2am. Open Thanksgiving; Closed Christmas Eve; Open Christmas Day at 5pm. Open year 'round.
Ocracoke Seafood Company: New Fall Hours: Monday – Saturday 11am - 5pm. Stay tuned for more updates as the season progresses.
The Flying Melon is now closed Sundays as well as Mondays. Fall hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 5–9pm.
Fall Hours for Village Thrift: Tuesday–Saturday, 11am–5pm.
Fall Hours for Ocracoke Preservation Society Museum: Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm; Saturday 10am–3pm; closed Sunday.
Jason's Restaurant Open Monday–Saturday, 11am to 2:30pm for lunch and 5pm to 8:30pm for dinner. Closed Sunday.
New Fall hours for Dajio Restaurant: Lunch-Dinner 11am-9pm, and Shrimp Hour 3-5pm seven days a week. Closed for Breakfast. Pizza hours remain the same: Tuesday-Sunday 5-10pm. Closed Monday. Will close for the season after dinner on October 29th.
Howard’s Pub is open every day from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. serving their full menu.
Zillie's Island Pantry Fall Hours: Monday–Thursday, 1–7:30pm; Friday–Sunday, 1-8pm.
Dajio and Jolly Roger are closed for the season.
