Ocracoke Preservation Society Fall & Winter Events
November 7, 2017: Fall Membership Meeting Ocracoke Preservation Society will have its 2017 Fall Membership Meeting during which the 2017 Ocracoke Cultural Heritage Award Recipient and 2017 Historic Home Award will be announced. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a potluck meal and fellowship as well celebrate this year’s winners. Join us at 6pm at the Ocracoke Community Center.
December 2, 2017: Holiday Home Tour Ocracoke Preservation Society will sponsor the 2017 Ocracoke Historic District Holiday Home Tour. Come out and join our Historic Home Tour featuring homes along the British Cemetery Road and Back Road. Tour several historic homes, learn their unique histories, and enjoy some holiday spirit! The Tour is from 3-5 pm.
December 5, 2017: Annual Wassail Party Join in the holiday spirit at the Museum for the Wassail Party and 2017 Quilt Raffle Winner announcement. Drop in between 4-6 pm for delicious wassail (spiced cider) and holiday treats!
January 27, 2018: Ocracoke Art Show & Silent Auction Everyone is looking forward to the 2018 Silent Auction fundraiser where numerous talented artists from all across the spectrum have donated works of art to be auctioned off to help support OPS. The theme is “Ocracoke Through Your Eyes.” We will begin to post the artwork on our Facebook Page in January where you will have an opportunity to preview and bid on each piece before the night of the auction if you are not able to be here in person. Enjoy hors d’oeurves and beverages while mingling with friends, artists and supporters all while bidding on these unique works of art. Festivities are from 5-7pm at the Ocracoke Preservation Society Museum.

The 2018 Ocracoke Preservation Society “Step Into The Past” Calendar is $15.95 and is available at ocracokepreservation.org and in the OPS gift shop.
The calendar features a selection of Ocracoke photos from the 1950s and prior, and is produced by the Ocracoke Preservation Society & their Library of Collections. What a great Christmas gift!
This Quilt Could Be Yours!
Just one dollar buys you a chance to win it!
This beautiful queen-size Sailboat pattern quilt featuring the Ocracoke lighthouse and island scenes was lovingly hand-appliqued and hand-quilted by the Ocracoke Needle and Thread Club. The quilters then donated it to Ocracoke Preservation Society for their annual fundraising Quilt Raffle.
Tickets are available at the OPS Museum, where you can see the quilt in person, or by calling 252-928-7375. Tickets really are only $1 each – or 6 for $5. What a bargain! The winning ticket will be drawn at the OPS Wassail Party on December 5th. You don’t need to be present to win – they’ll mail it to you!
