The last week of February feels like spring....

...but it's still quiet on the island. As shops and restaurants start opening for the season, we'll update it on the Who's Open page!

Here's what's going on this week:

Monday, February 20th:

As of today, Eduardo's Taco Stand is closed for a little winter break. We'll let you know when he opens again!

Tuesday, February 21st:

7–9pm: Coyote Music Den's Winter Jams every Tuesday through March. Bring your instrument and join in!

Wednesday, February 22nd:

5:30pm: Special Occupancy Tax Board meeting at the Community Center. You can't talk but you can listen as the OT board decided whether or not to fund $146,000 over the next two years for a tram service in 2018. If you want to put in your two cents before the meeting, email OT board chair Bob Chestnut at bob@surfocracoke.com or take our handy little survey! You can find it by clicking here. The Current will provide the survey results to the OT Board before Wednesday's meeting, so vote soon!

Thursday, February 23rd:

3:15pm: Open Batting Practice @ Ocracoke Community Park. All ages welcome! Fun and informal.

Friday, February 24th:

Enjoy the sunshine!

Saturday, February 25th:

8am: Youth Basketball games in the school gym! Go teams!

10am: Taco sales in the Multi-purpose room! 4 tacos for $12! Get yours before they run out!

The annual Womens' Wine Tasting hosted by Angie and Sarah -- not only will they be sharing some great new wines they'll be celebrating Mardi Gras with beads, masks, a King cake, and the Mardi Gras Mambo. Gentlemen friends will be allowed after 7:30 pm; Zillie's will stay open until 10pm. Get your tickets here.

Sunday, February 26th:

Another quiet winter day on the island. You could go to church.... Both churches have 11am services; the Assembly of God also has a 7pm service.
