Current Events Week of Oct. 31-Nov. 6
It's really fall on the sandbar, and as of Halloween weekend, two local watering holes, Howard's Pub and Dajio, are closed for the season. The Back Porch is next – get those crab beignets while you can. The Back Porch will close for the season after serving dinner on Saturday, November 5th.
Who's staying open all winter? Stay tuned and the Current will update that list this week.
Monday, October 31st:
Happy Halloween! Watch out for Trick-or-Treaters, especially along Lighthouse Rd. and Loop Rd. Hey kids, there are some festive people (and one curmudgeon) on Howard Street who want to give you candy, too! Some of the other streets feel left out of the party. Spread the love.
8pm: Live Music and Creepiness! All Alone and Lonely: An Evening of Haunting Appalachian Folklore @ the Coyote Music Den: "I feel I've dreamt this once before. But it wasn't you..." Lady Margret is waiting at the Coyote Music Den this Halloween for her true love to return from a long sea voyage. Wait with her under the candlelight and listen as she passes the time by singing tales from beyond the grave in Appalachian folk tradition. This single act, musical play features stories of love lost, love found, restless spirits, deception, murder, and one incredibly roguish werefox. Admission $10; doors open at 7:30pm.
