Hyde County Tropical Storm Advisory 4

Hyde County officials are pleased to announce that Ocracoke Island will be open to everyone including visitors starting today, Sunday, September 4, 2016.

All ferry routes will resume normal operations effective with the next departure time today at 9am, Sunday, September 4, 2016. This includes the Hatteras/Ocracoke, Swan Quarter/Ocracoke, and the Cedar Island/Ocracoke Ferry runs.

There is still standing water along some parts of Highway 12 to the Hatter as/Ocracoke Ferry. Please use caution, slow down and respect your neighboring vehicles.

RIP CURRENTS are very dangerous, please use caution and be aware that there are very strong rip currents from this storm.

All Hyde County government offices, including the Hyde County Health Department and Hyde County solid waste convenience sites will resume normal operations Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
