Hyde County BOE Seeks Applicants

The Ocracoke seat on the Board of Education needs a replacement.

As of July 12, 2016, a vacancy was created on the non-partisan Hyde County Board of Education by the resignation of the Ocracoke District representative, David Tolson.

To be eligible for the vacated seat, candidates must live in Ocracoke, and are eligible without regard to political party. The Hyde County Board of Education is non-partisan. Appointment to the seat will be for the remainder of the term expiring June 30, 2018. 

The vision and mission for Hyde County Schools serves as the guide for decisions made by the Board of Education in meeting the diverse needs of its primary customers and stakeholders… the students and parents of Hyde County. The Board of Education, as well as its employees, realizes that to meet the needs of all students, everyone must work collaboratively in identifying strengths and weaknesses and, where weaknesses are identified, work together to realize improvement.
