Monday, June 27:
Monday at the OPS Museum means a Museum Tour at 1pm with an island resident with insider knowledge. This week it's Bill Jones!
A wonderful NPS volunteer will open the Lighthouse on Mondays from 1–3pm. You can go in, but not up!Ocracoke Makers' Market at the historic Wahab House, 3–7pm. Crafters, artists, farmers' market.
Ocracoke Library Summer Reading Program 2016 at 4pm.
Pirate Show at Deepwater Theater! Join Desiree Ricker, David Tweedie, Gary Mitchell, and Peyton Piquard for a fun, family-friendly analysis of the infamous character Blackbeard the Pirate. 7:30pm; doors open at 7.
Tuesday, June 28:
Porch Talk at the OPS Museum at 1pm. Learn all about our island neighbor, Portsmouth Island, from Dave Frum. Porch Talks are free, informal, and informative!
Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
Wednesday, June 29:
Outdoor Classroom summer programs are offered every Wednesday at 10am. All programs are free, last approximately 90 minutes, are outdoors, and taught by Elizabeth Hanrahan, a certified wildlife educator. This week, you can learn about Estuaries: Where the River Meets the Sea at the Outdoor Classroom at NCCAT.
Dockside Talk aboard the Skipjack Wilma Lee at 10am at the Community Store docks. Dockside Talks are free and sponsored by Ocracoke Alive. On Wednesdays, Capt. Rob and Fiddlin' Dave present Pirate Tales and Fiddle Tunes. This program is especially fun for families.
Just for Kids program at OPS at 1pm. This week, kids are invited to "learn about our neighbors and make a fun hat." All are welcome! A $5 donation for materials is appreciated.
Expose Yourself to Art! Art opening at Down Creek Gallery, 5–8pm. Art, fun, refreshments and live music! Down Creek Gallery is pleased to be hosting Photographer Chris Van Atta in his first Art Opening. Van Atta’s images of the Outer Banks and beyond are absolutely spectacular, and can currently be viewed at the gallery. Chris Van Atta’s work is inspired by “the phenomenal forces of nature and historic structures from the coastal North Carolina shores.” Van Atta’s latest body of work is a mixture of panoramic images of seascapes, historic piers, and low country wildlife that he has found either locally or regionally along the North Carolina coastline. Van Atta also constructs his own frames from salvaged sea fencing and reclaimed barn wood from coastal North Carolina.

The weekly Ocrafolk Opry is tonight! Live music and storytelling by a variety of local talent. Shows begin at 8pm at Deepwater Theater. More info here.

Thursday, June 30:

Sunday, July 3:
Special events for Ocracoke Independence Day celebration begin TODAY! See poster at right for more info!
10am–3pm: Classic Car Show on the Pony Island Motel lawn.
6–8pm: Square Dance at Ocracoke Community Square.
8–9:15pm: Pre-Fireworks Gathering at the NPS docks. Come out and hear some dance tunes and patriotic songs.
9:15pm Fireworks!!!
Ocracoke Community Park is the place to be on Sunday afternoons. Come on out to join in Pick-Up Softball at 5pm. Fun and games!
Martin and Friends play every Sunday night at Ocracoke Oyster Co, starting at 7pm.
