Ocracoke to Celebrate with Fireworks
The island community is excited to bring this patriotic tradition back to its holiday festivities. Fireworks will be a part of the two-day celebration of our nation’s birthday!
Thanks to cooperative efforts of the National Park Service, Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department, Hyde County, and NCDOT Ferry Division, the pyrotechnics will be launched at the southern end of the island at the large NPS parking area. Spectators will be able to gather around beautiful Silver Lake harbor for great viewing.
Other events on July 3rd include a Classic Car Show, a traditional Ocracoke Square Dance in the Community Square, live music with local band Molasses Creek, and fun music with DJ Tommy Hutcherson.
The Independence Day celebration doesn’t end with the Grand Finale on Sunday night. On Monday, July 4th, events start early and continue all day long.
