Summer fun has begun! Lots of stuff happening on the island.

Monday at the OPS Museum means a Museum Tour at 1pm with an island resident with insider knowledge. This week it's Julie Howard!
Pirate Show at Deepwater Theater! Join Desiree Ricker, David Tweedie, Gary Mitchell, and Peyton Piquard for a fun, family-friendly analysis of the infamous character Blackbeard the Pirate. 7:30pm; doors open at 7.
Tuesday, June 14:
Porch Talk at the OPS Museum at 1pm. Chip Stevens will talk about the history of Blackbeard's Lodge. Porch Talks are free, informal, and informative!
Live music! The band formerly known as the Yes Team, plus Aaron Lavigne, who now call themselves the Sailors, will pay at the Ocracoke Oyster Company starting at 7pm. Come out and see these Ocrafolk Festival favorites!
Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
Wednesday June 15:
Outdoor Classroom summer programs are offered every Wednesday at 10am. All programs are free, last approximately 90 minutes, are outdoors, and taught by Elizabeth Hanrahan, a certified wildlife educator. This week, you can learn about Estuaries: Where the River Meets the Sea at the Outdoor Classroom at NCCAT.
Just for Kids program at OPS at 1pm. This week, kids are invited to learn about and make a Dream Catcher. All are welcome! A $5 donation for materials is appreciated.
Expose Yourself to Art! Sarah Searight will be featuring her new body of work from 5-8pm at Down Creek Gallery, with musical guest Rob King. Sarah has been painting “plein aire” on Ocracoke since 1999 when she first moved to North Carolina via Port Aransas, TX. Sarah spends half of her time in Texas as well as Ocracoke, North Carolina painting both coasts year round. Sarah says her work is inspired by “being able to live on the beach allowing me to witness the constant subtle changes in the colors of the dunes, marshes, and ocean as well as swimming and surfing during my time off.”Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote" (just Marcy and Lou!) at 8pm every Wednesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
The weekly Ocrafolk Opry is tonight! Live music and storytelling by a variety of local talent. Shows begin at 8pm at Deepwater Theater. More info here.
Every Wednesday night, Ocracoke Oyster Company will host Karaoke starting at 8:30pm. Come out and be a rock star!
Thursday, June 16:
Porch Talk at the OPS Museum at 1pm. Philip Howard will talk about the history of the U.S. Livesaving Service. Porch Talks are free, informal, and informative!
Live Music! Martin & Lou at the Ocracoke Oyster Company, 3–6pm. Great tunes in the afternoon!
Wine tasting at Zillie's Island Pantry! Summer wine tastings take place every Thursday and Friday at 6pm, and pair five great wines with delicious hors d'oeuvres from the pantry. Space is limited, so make a reservation, and sign up at zillies.com.
Coloring Night at Books to Be Red! Come out to color your stress away! 6:30–8:30pm. Books to Be Red provides coloring pages, crayons and markers, and refreshments, and it's FREE! Not sure what Coloring Night is? Read this story and find out!
