Who should attend? Anyone who has concerns, ideas, or opinions about our Mallard duck population. PLEASE SHARE with anyone who might be interested.

Dr. Maria Palamar, NC State Veterinarian, and her team will be available for an information session. There will also be a representative from the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, wildlife Services (USDA APHIS WS).

They will be here to listen to your stories, opinions, and answer questions.

Some issues that need addressing:
* Will addling/oiling of eggs and a do not feed the ducks campaign be enough? When can we expect results?
* Will there come a time that, for health reasons, we have to remove/euthanize? How long do we have to show we can reduce the population on our own?
* Should we have an ordinance that would impose a fine on anyone who feeds the Mallards, or can Ocracoke show that we are serious about reducing the duck population on our own?
* What are some ideas for a ‘do not feed the ducks’ campaign?

This is your opportunity to ask experts in the field any questions you might have. Brought to you by OCBA and Hyde County. Coffee provided by Ocracoke Coffee and snacks provided by concerned neighbors and OCBA. More info at: http://ocracokeducks.blogspot.com/
