Current Events Week of March 28
The Easter Bunny has come and gone, and it's Spring Break for Ocracoke kids. The weather is lovely, some visitors are here, and it feels like spring! There aren't many events this week, so go outside and enjoy the sunshine!

Coloring Night at Books to Be Red! Come out to color your stress away! 6–8pm. Books to Be Red provides coloring pages, crayons and markers, and refreshments, and it's FREE! Not sure what Coloring Night is? Read this story and find out!
The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will hold their every-other-Thursday meeting at the Fire Hall at 7pm. They can always use new members! You can also stop by and get a way-cool OVFD t-shirt or order your reflective house number signs (so OVFD and Ocracoke EMS can find you!)
Friday, April 1st:
Oh, how we love this day at the Current....
Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night from March 25th – November 18th. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
Saturday, April 2nd:
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Doward Brugh on Saturday, April 2nd at 1pm at Ocracoke Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department. Anyone who would like to bring food can bring it to the service.
Martin & Friends will play at the Ocracoke Oyster Company, 6:30–9:30pm. Live music and great food!
Sunday, April 3rd:
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of OVFD! All are welcome to come to the Fire Hall on Sunday April 3rd, 2pm–4pm to share some of the memories of the past 50 years and celebrate what the fire department and community has achieved.
