Current Events Week of February 8th

Here's hoping the sun returns, the tide goes out, and the puddles dry up!

Monday, February 8:

Ocracoke School is cancelled for Monday, February 8th.

The NCDOT ferry meeting scheduled for Ocracoke today has been cancelled. 

Tuesday, February 9:

Wednesday, February 10:

This month's OCBA meeting has been postponed until Thursday, February 25th. The meeting will open at 6pm with a Meet the Candidates night, followed by the OCBA meeting.

The Ash Wednesday Service @ the United Methodist Church begins at 7pm. All are welcome!

Thursday, February 11:

Go Dolphins! Home basketball game starts at 4pm! Come to the concession stand for a Mexican Food, Hot Dog, and Bake Sale to benefit the Ocracoke School 4th graders' upcoming field trip to Raleigh, NC and Williamsburg, VA. 

Friday, February 12: 

The Flying Melon will be open this weekend for dinner on February 12th, 13th, and 14th. Opening at 5pm.

Happy Valentine's Day! 

Take your sweetie out for a special Valentine's Day dinner at Ocracoke Oyster Company! Live music with Martin Garrish5:30–8:30. Dinner specials are prime rib w/twice baked potato and veggies, and baked flounder topped with crab cake w/roast parsley red potatoes and veggies. Every couple will get a heart-shaped cake for two!

Ocracoke Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, March 16th at 7pm at the library. All are welcome to the discussion of Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. Read on! 

Caribbean steel drum workshop available on Ocracoke in March. Scott Paulson of Island Time Steel Drums will offer a 5-session class in Deepwater Theater for ages 13-99. Come chase away those winter blues and learn to play these beautiful instruments. More info here.

Registration is now open for the Ocracoke Island 5K/10K, Family Fun Run, and 1/2 Marathon on April 23rd & 24th, 2016. Check out runocracoke.com for more information!
