Art and basketball and music!

Three home basketball games and a wonderful art show -- all this week!

Monday, January 18th:

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! What are you doing to honor this national day of service? As the great man once asked, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?"

Tuesday, January 19th:

Home Basketball Games! Go Dolphins! They will host the Columbia Wildcats at home. JV plays first at 4pm, followed by the Lady Dolphins and Varsity Boys. Listen on WOVV 90.1 FM and online at wovv.org. Fear the Pod!

Ocracoke Library Book Club meets at 7pm at the library. All are welcome to come and discuss Lisette's List by Susan Vreeland. You're welcome to join even if you haven't read the book, but expect spoilers! Ocracoke Library's Book Club meets monthly. Check out their Facebook page to get a head's up about next month's book!

Open Mic at Coyote Music Den, 7–9pm at Marcy and Lou's new place in the Community Square. All are welcome to play, sing, or listen. These free music jams will continue every Tuesday night through January.

Thursday, January 21st:

NC Legislators want to hear from Ocracoke! Members of the House Transportation Planning Committee will be at the Swan Quarter ferry landing on Monday, January 25th. For more information, plan to attend a pre-planning meeting on Thursday, Jan. 21 2016 at 3:30 at the Community Center.

Color Your Stress Away! All are welcome to Books to Be Red, 6–8pm, for a Coloring Party! They'll supply the pencils and markers, coloring pages, and refreshments! Just bring yourself! Fun for all ages!

The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will hold their every-other-Thursday meeting at the Fire Hall at 7pm. They can always use new members! You can also stop by and get a way-cool OVFD t-shirt or order your reflective house number signs (so OVFD and Ocracoke EMS can find you!)

Friday, January 22nd:

"Get Lit" Ocracoke Book Swap at Books to Be Red, 1-3pm. Bring the books that you have read and loved but are ready to part with. Take home someone else's favorites. Bring 2 take 2. Bring 4 take 4. You get the idea. Books to Be Red will provide snacks and drinks – you bring the gently read books. Bring books you are proud to show off and talk about – don't bring your old rejects.

4th of July planning meeting, 1pm at the Community Center. Come out if you want to get involved with 4th of July planning, or if you just want to put in your two cents!

Home Basketball Games! Go Dolphins! They will host Perquimans High School at home. JV plays first at 4pm, followed by the Lady Dolphins and Varsity Boys. Listen on WOVV 90.1 FM and online at wovv.org. Fear the Pod!
