Prepare for the Pirate Invasion – and Halloween! Arrgh!

Blackbeard is on his way to Ocracoke for the Pirate Jamboree this weekend! All that, and Halloween, too!

Thursday, October 29:

Halloween Family Movie Night at the Ocracoke Library! Come out at 6pm to see Hotel Transylvania! All are welcome!

The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will hold their every-other-Thursday meeting at the Fire Hall at 7pm. They can always use new members! You can also stop by and get a way-cool OVFD t-shirt or order your reflective house number signs (so OVFD and Ocracoke EMS can find you!)

Friday, October 30:

Coloring at Books to be Red, 6pm-8pm. Come check out America's latest craze! Leslie will provide coloring sheets, colored pencils, markers, and refreshments. It's free and fun and all are welcome!

Blackbeard's Pirate Jamboree begins! Find the schedule of events here

Saturday, October 31:

Happy Halloween!

In addition to all the fun Pirate Jamboree events, the island will also be celebrating Halloween! Watch for the little young'uns begging for candy, starting about 3:30pm. Trick or treat!

The Island Inn will celebrate All Hallows' Eve with the "Haunted Inn" from 4-6:30 p.m. It's free, you have to enter one at a time (not ideal for small kiddos), and it's incredibly creepy. The candy will be inside, but there will be self-serve candy outside of the Inn for those who don't dare to enter.

Following the Bawdy Beer Garden, Ocracoke Oyster Company will host a Halloween party with the Brian Mayer Band, starting at 9:30pm. Wear your best costume and compete for prizes!

Sunday, November 1:

Daylight Savings is over! Who's ready for it to get dark at 5? Woo-hoo! Set you clocks back at 2am, which is probably when you'll be going to bed after all the fun Halloween parties, right?

Get it while you can at Dajio! They will close for the season after they feed you this weekend. No more crab mac'n'cheese for months!
