Art Opening for Mary Bassell at Down Creek Gallery, 5–8pm. All are welcome to the art opening – there will also be refreshments and live music by Rob King!

Sunday, September 27:

Starting around 9pm, there will be a total lunar eclipse, making its full circle back to a full moon by 12:30am. The east coast is the perfect place to view this eclipse, and Ocracoke is nice and dark so you can see it. This is also the month of the "supermoon" – our lovely orb of reflected light will be slightly closer to Earth than usual and will appear especially big and bright in the sky. Until the eclipse happens, of course. Then it will turn reddish-brown and dark. How cool is that?

Coming up next week and beyond:

Ocracoke School's 4th grade class is holding a big Yard Sale on October 3rd to pay for their class trips this year. Come to the Pony Island Motel lawn at 8am to find the stuff you never knew you needed. If you'd like to donate items for the sale, please drop them off at the Pony Island Motel office no sooner than October 1st. Questions? Call Melinda Esham (921-0063) or Sundae Horn (921-0283)
