Hyde County to Host Regional Emergency Communications Center Public Forum on March 31, 2015

In an effort to facilitate transparency and educate our citizens, the Hyde County Emergency Services Department will host a public forum to discuss the proposed creation of a regional emergency communications center (RECC) with Dare County and Tyrrell County.

Key project leaders to be in attendance include Hyde County Manager Bill Rich, Hyde County Emergency Services Director Justin Gibbs, Dare County Manager Robert Outen, Dare County Communications Center Manager Captain Trey Piland, and North Carolina 911 Board members Richard Taylor, David Dodd, and Tina Bone. The meeting will begin with an overall summary of the project, followed by a status update and concluding with a question and answer session to afford time for the public to speak.

The public forum will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Hyde County Government Center Multipurpose Room, Swan Quarter and the Ocracoke School Commons utilizing electronic conferencing equipment.
