Ocracoke was dusted and soaked with our first snowfall of the winter.

The flurries started around 10am, just as the young Dolphins were heading to school at their 2-hour delayed start time. By lunchtime, the flurries has morphed into big, fluffy, sticky flakes and school was cancelled for the rest of the day. Yay! Who doesn't love a snow day?

By late afternoon, the snow had turned to sleet and slush, but the beautiful moments are preserved forever in the hudreds of photos filling the social networks.

I ventured out around noon for some photo ops, but I was a little early to get all the frolicking kids, and I forgot to take some of my own young'uns. Thanks to Cathy Scarborough, the Current can share some of Oyster Creek kids' good times.

If you took any great shots today that you'd like to share, please send them to ocracokecurrent@gmail.com and I'll be happy to add them to this story.
