Current Events Week of 2/2/15

All this week: Village Thrift is having a big sale! 1/2 price on all clothes and shoes! Proceeds benefit Ocracoke Youth Center. Village thrift is open Thursday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm. 

Monday, February 2:

Today's home MS basketball game has been cancelled due to wind. 

Hyde County Commissioners meeting, 6pm in the Ocracoke School commons area. Find the agenda and info packets here. 

Tuesday, February 3:

Hyde County Board of Education meeting, 4pm in the Ocracoke School information highway classroom. 

Away basketball games – the Dolphins will travel to Creswell to take on the Tigers. Games start at 4pm. Listen at 90.1FM or wovv.org Fear the Pod!

Wednesday, February 4:

Transformation Zone Pre-School Storytime, 9:30am at Ocracoke Assembly Church classroom. Two-, three-, and four- year-olds are invited to join Leslie Lanier for stories, snacks, crafts, and fun!

Thursday, February 5: 

Special furniture SALE, 11am – 4pm, at Bebe's Cottage on Silver Lake. The new owners of Bebe's have donated all of the furniture to Village Thrift to sell. It is a large amount of sturdy, wooden furniture in good condition. Proceeds benefit Ocracoke Youth Center. The owners will have the house open Thursday and Saturday. Stop by and check it out!

OVFD meeting at the Fire Hall, 7pm. Come out and join the Fire Department! 

Friday, February 6:

All are welcome to the 2nd Affordable Care Act Workshop at the Ocracoke Library from 3 – 7pm. A trained health care navigator will be available to answer your questions and assist you in the enrollment process for the Health Insurance Marketplace. Appointments can be made online, and walk-ins are welcome if time allows. A general information presentation will be held in the first hour of the meeting on January 9th. Please stop by the library and sign up for the presentation. or more information call (252)216-6623 or visit www.ncgetcovered.org.
