The Bidding Has Begun!
All are welcome to the OPS Museum on Saturday, January 24th for the 2nd annual "Ocracoke Through Your Eyes" Art Show fundraiser. The reception and silent auction will be from 5 – 7pm. Come for the free wine and munchies and leave with an original piece of Ocracoke-inspired art!
OPS administrator Amy Howard has been collecting the little canvases from professional artists and crafters, amateurs, and beginners of all ages. Each piece is unique – the artists have used paint, glass, metal, shells, photos, fabric, and more to create their visions of Ocracoke.
The artwork will be available for bidding with bids starting at $10. Some of the pieces have bids already! Amy has been posting photos of the canvases on the OPS Facebook page and will update the album as more artwork arrives.
"We hope a lot of people can make it to the art opening," Amy said. "But we realize that it's not possible for many of our far away fans to get out here in January, so we will be accepting online bids again this year."
Online bidding is available via email: Just drop Amy a line at admin@ocracokepreservation.org until Noon on the day of the event (January 24, 2015).
(Here on the online bidding details: If you bid online, Amy will write in your bid on the bid sheet (and keep the FB page updated). OPS staff can't update the online bids during Saturday's event, so the bid you email to Amy is your final bid. Please make sure to include the canvas number, name and artist so Amy make sure to write your name in by the correct work of art! If you win, OPS will mail your canvas to you, with a $5 shipping charge added.)
