Ocracoke School Homecoming 2013
Ocracoke School celebrated Homecoming on March 2nd with an evening of festivities. Youth basketball games began at 4pm, while delicious BBQ dinners were served at the concession stand. The traditional Homecoming Court, emceed this year by former student Emmet Temple, began at 7pm.
Each of the high school students was escorted by another and presented at Court. The crowns went to Casey Tolson (King), Diana Perez (Queen), Miguel Monter (Prince), and Amanda Gaskins (Princess). Following the Court was the ever-popular photo-op sessions where the kids pose with each other and everyone else so there's proof of how good they looked all dressed up.
The girls then took to the bleachers in their beautiful gowns, while the boys suited up for basketball. The Dolphins played former Dolphins in the High School vs. Alumni game, which was, without a doubt, the most entertaining spectacle in the gym all season. Jenny was unable to attend and you won't get any good sports writing out of me, so let's just say you had to see it to believe it – and don't miss it next year!
