Ocracoke School Goes for Obama

President Obama won re-election with 63.7% of the popular vote among Ocracoke students in grades 3 – 12. 

Mitt Romney's share was 25.3%. Middle school Language Arts teacher Shea Youell was a write-in candidate with 3% of the vote, with high school math teacher Terry Burns taking 2%.


In other races the results were:

Governor: Dalton 70%.... McCrory 22%

U.S. House: Anderson 67%.... Jones 32%

Lt. Governor: Coleman 65%.... Forest 32%

N.C. House: Tine 80%.... Lawson 20%

Ocracoke School's first and second grades held their own election. Barack Obama also proved popular with the six to eight year-olds, beating Mitt Romney 21 – 7.
