He got not a single rebound nor point, but Erick scores big in the assist department. He is a member of the Mattamuskeet cheer squad. Erick's incredible aerial moves had fans of both teams applauding

Erick is a sophomore, who began studying dance and gymnastics two and a half years ago. In the middle of his seventh grade year, Erick moved to the upper Florida Keys to live with his grandfather.

A dance troop visited his school in the Keys, and he was hooked. "I saw the dance aspect then," said Erick, who started to appreciate gymnastics and acrobatics later. He combines the three disciplines to keep the crowd pumped.

Erick moved back to Swan Quarter to live with his grandmother before the start of this school year.

Laker fans seem to "really like it," said Erick, who debuted his new skills during football season. "When I first started cheering with my gymastics training, they would go crazy when I would throw tricks." He follows six back handsprings (L-A-K-E-R-S) with a back tuck.

The Laker cheerleaders are glad Erick is on the squad. They are getting ready to compete in a cheer competition, where they often take second place. This year, with the addition of Erick's wow factor, they are hoping to take first. Good Luck!
