The NCDOT Ferry Division will be issuing 2019-2020 Hatteras Ferry Priority stickers at the Ocracoke ferry office in the village on February 5-7 from 9:00am to 4:30pm, alphabetically by last name. Residents whose last name starts with A to H can apply on February 5. Last names starting with I to P will be on February 6. Last names starting with Q to Z will be on February 7. Only permanent residents who have both a valid driver’s license with an Ocracoke street address and a vehicle registration card with an Ocracoke post office box are eligible for priority loading passes. Only one pass will be issued per vehicle.

Monday, February 4th:

1pm: Ocracoke TDA meeting @ Community Center.

5pm: Joint meeting with Hyde County Board of Education and Hyde County Board of Commissioners. Watch from Community Center. 

6pm: Hyde County Commissioners Meeting @ Community Center. All are welcome. Click here to view agenda and packets.

Tuesday, February 5th: 

6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-8:30pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). Every Tuesday night through March. No charge, but donations welcome.

Wednesday, February 6th:  

4:30pm: Go Dolphins! JV and Varsity basketball teams will take on the Bear Grass Bears 

7pm: Island Trivia @ Gaffer's. Teams up to 4 people; $2 each to play. Proceeds go to a good cause. Show off how smart you are!

7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. Every Wednesday night through March. No charge, but donations welcome.

Thursday, February 7th:

POSTPONED: 6pm: Harry Potter Trivia @ the Library. For serious Potterheads! Teams can be up to 4 players. Prizes! 6-7pm.This is to celebrate International Harry Potter Book Night! 

Friday, February 8th:

6:30pm: Stuffed Animal Sleepover @ the Library. The Pigeon wants to stay up late with all his friends! Bring your stuffed animal (one per child) to the library at 6:30-7pm to hear a bedtime story (pajamas optional), make a name tag, and say goodnight! On Saturday morning, come back for breakfast at 11am and to see photos of all the animals' adventures! 

Saturday, February 9th:

10am: NCDOT Community Day at New Bridge The N.C. Department of Transportation and local officials have planned an informal community day of Feb. 9, 2019, 10am–4pm, to celebrate the new bridge to replace the 55-year-old Bonner Bridge. Parking will be available in the lot adjacent to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, 8770 Oregon Inlet Road, Nags Head, NC 27959. At 10am, the bridge will open to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. At 11am there will be a special blessing of thankfulness for the bridge and laying of a wreath in Oregon Inlet to honor the close connection between the people of the Outer Banks and the inlet. The new bridge will open to traffic at a later date.

11am: Family Preschool Storytime @ Ocracoke Library! Ms. Claire will lead the storytimes and crafts, which will take place every other Saturday and alternate between English and Spanish. This week is Spanish; all are welcome to this free program. 

Sunday, February 10th: 

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Taize service 7am; Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).
