Monday, January 14th:

Dreary, cold and rainy day.... we can hope for sunshine tomorrow.... 

Tuesday, January 15th:

4pm: Go Dolphins! The JV and Varsity boys' teams host home games in the Ocracoke School gym starting at 4pm. Concessions available in the multi-purpose room. The Ocracoke Dolphins Cheer Club will be there, too!

Current Events January 14-20

6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-8:30pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). Every Tuesday night through March. No charge, but donations welcome.

Wednesday, January 16th:  

7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. Every Wednesday night through March. No charge, but donations welcome.

7pm: Island Trivia @ Gaffer's. Teams up to 4 people; $2 each to play. Proceeds go to a good cause. Show off how smart you are!

6pm: Movie Night/Party @ Ocracoke LibraryCelebrate A.A.Milne's Birthday with a special Winnie-the-Pooh storytime, craft, movie - and honey! 6pm story and craft; 6:45pm: Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (movie, animated original, rated G); 7:45pm: Snacks provided by Miss Debbie! 8pm: "Christopher Robin" (movie, 2 hours, rated PG, suitable for age 8 & up) FREE! Bring a blanket or pillow to get comfy during movies; bring your stuffed Pooh and friends for a Library photo op!

Saturday, January 19th:

12noon: Ocracoke's 3rd Annual Women's March! Bring your signs and your spirit and join Ocracoke's "Sister March" and add your numbers to the 3rd Annual Women's March (the big one is in D.C. at 10am, and there are Sister Marches the same day all over the country.) Meet at the intersection of School Road and Irvin Garrish Highway in front of the Sunglass Shop. The March will be to the Lighthouse and back! Photo op in front of, but not on, NPS property. 

6pm: Live music! Martin & Friends @ Ocracoke Oyster Co. 

Sunday, January 20th: 

Happy Anniversary to Us! The Ocracoke Current has been online providing news and information for seven years today! Woo!

Services @ both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Sunday School 10am; service at 11am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God (Sunday School 10am, services at 11am and 6pm; also Wednesday night service at 7pm).

Looking ahead....

Get creative! The 6th Annual "Ocracoke Through Your Eyes" show will feature small works by local artists. A wine-and-cheese reception and art opening/silent auction is planned for Saturday, January 26th, from 5 – 7pm at the Museum. OPS has started a new facebook album where they will post photos of the art and information about bidding from off the island.
