Please join Ocracoke Preservation Society on Saturday, December 2nd for this fun holiday tradition. OPS is highlighting some of Ocracoke's carefully preserved buildings in the National Historic District. This year's tour features six historic structures on British Cemetery Road and Back Road. The homes will be decked out in their holiday best, and will be open to view from 3–5pm.
Purchase or reserve your tickets for this event at the OPS Museum in person, or by calling 252-928-7375. Ticket prices are $15 for non-members, $10 for OPS members, and $5 for children. Ticket price includes a special Hot Toddy of Mulled Wine at Zillie's Island Pantry at the tour's end. (There's a non-alcoholic choice, too!) Ticket sales will benefit Ocracoke Preservation Society.
The homeowners are graciously opening their doors for Homes Tour participants. There’ll be refreshments, too! Two unique shops, Over the Moon (c. 1870's) and Island Artworks (c. 1958), will be open especially for the tour.
The fun doesn't end with the Homes Tour! On Tuesday, December 5th, the OPS Museum will host their annual Wassail Party from 3–5pm. Live holiday entertainment, oodles of cookies, and more good cheer! They'll also draw the winning 2017 Quilt Raffle ticket that night, so it's not too late to buy yours!
The OPS Museum and Gift Shop will close for the season after December 16th. Until then, hours are Monday-Friday 11am–4pm, and Saturday 11am–3pm.
