6pm: Hyde County Board of Commissioners mtg @ Community Center. The agenda and packets for the Monday, October 2, 2017, Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting are now available to the public. Click here to view the documents. The meeting will take place via teleconferencing equipment in the Ocracoke Community Center. The public is invited to attend.
New Fall Ferry Schedule begins today for Hatteras ferry route.
2pm: The Hyde County Board of Education meets on Ocracoke @ the Community Center. All are welcome to attend.
6:30pm: Open Jam @ Coyote Music Den, 6:30-9pm – sing, play, listen – all ages, all levels welcome (youth are encouraged to come at 6:30). No charge, but donations welcome.
3pm: Get your Flu Shot at the Walk-In Flu Shot Clinic @ Ocracoke Health Center. It's the right thing to do! It's good for you! Stop by anytime between 3–5pm.
6:30pm: Youth Choir Practice @ the Methodist Church. Open to all Ocracoke middle and high school students.
7pm: Word Play @ Coyote Music Den, 7-8:30pm. If you love words … bring something you wrote, read, heard and share, listen or tell a story. No charge, but donations welcome.
6pm: Wine tasting at Zillie's Island Pantry! Wine tastings pair five great wines with delicious hors d'oeuvres from the pantry. Space is limited, so make a reservation, and sign up at zillies.com.
7:30pm: Live Music at the Coyote Music Den! The Coyote Music Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night through November. Beloved island native Martin Garrish shares songs – "signposts of life" – and enchanting stories about growing up on Ocracoke. $15 for adults/$7 for kids under 12. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
6:30pm: Live Music! Martin & Lou @ Oyster Co. 6:30-9:30pm
11am: Services at both churches: Ocracoke United Methodist (Sunday School 10am) and Ocracoke Assembly of God. The Assembly of God also has a 7pm service.
2pm: Blessing of the Animals @ OUMC. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your furry friends to experience their very own worship service on the Methodist Church lawn. All animals welcome. Join the congregation of island pets Sunday afternoon, 2–3pm.
2pm: OVFD Open House, 2–4pm @ the Fire Hall. There will be a tour of the station and a chance to see the trucks with the equipment they carry. Fire prevention materials, address sign information, and Vial of Life information will be available. The kids will be able to handle a fire hose and spray some water.

Fall Hours for Ocracoke Preservation Society Museum: Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm; Saturday 10am–3pm; closed Sunday.
Jason's Restaurant Open Monday–Saturday, 11am to 2:30pm for lunch and 5pm to 8:30pm for dinner. Closed Sunday.
New Fall hours for Dajio Restaurant: Lunch-Dinner 11am-9pm, and Shrimp Hour 3-5pm seven days a week. Closed for Breakfast. Pizza hours remain the same: Tuesday-Sunday 5-10pm. Closed Monday. Will close for the season after dinner on October 29th.
Howard’s Pub is open every day from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. serving their full menu.
