Ocracoke Preservation Museum starts their summer programs this week. Monday at the Museum means a Museum Tour at 1pm with an island resident with insider knowledge.

Colin comes callin'! I've been told that we'll be having a Tropical Storm today. Again! Already! If all goes as predicted, Colin will pass us by from way offshore. Whew!
It's Election Day! NC has a weird 2nd primary today for judicial and congressional seats. Vote! 7am – 7pm at the Fire Hall.
Learn all about Kayaking Around Ocracoke with Grace West at today's Porch Talk at the OPS Museum at 1pm. Porch Talks are free, informal, and informative!

Wednesday, June 8:
Outdoor Classroom summer programs are offered every Wednesday at 10am. All programs are free, last approximately 90 minutes, are outdoors, and taught by Elizabeth Hanrahan, a certified wildlife educator. This week, you can learn "Paint a Poop" at the Working Watermen's Exhibit in the Community Square.
Just for Kids program at OPS at 1pm. This week, kids are invited to learn about Ocracoke's quilting traditions and make a quilt square with fabric and glue. All are welcome! A $5 donation for materials is appreciated.
Ocracoke Civic and Business Association will hold their regular monthly meeting at 7pm at the Community Center. All are welcome.
Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote" (just Marcy and Lou!) at 8pm every Wednesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net
The weekly Ocrafolk Opry is tonight! Live music and storytelling by a variety of local talent. Shows begin at 8pm at Deepwater Theater. More info here.

Coloring Night at Books to Be Red! Come out to color your stress away! 6:30–8:30pm. Books to Be Red provides coloring pages, crayons and markers, and refreshments, and it's FREE! Not sure what Coloring Night is? Read this story and find out!
The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will hold their every-other-Thursday meeting at the Fire Hall at 7pm. They can always use new members! You can also stop by and get a way-cool OVFD t-shirt or order your reflective house number signs (so OVFD and Ocracoke EMS can find you!)
