Memorial Day weekend is on its way!

Monday, May 23rd:

Last shopping day of the Scholastic Book Fair! Stop by the Ocracoke Library anytime between 8am and 7pm for your last chance to buy. Get some great books for summer reading. Don't have a kid to buy books for? You can purchase books for Ocracoke School classrooms or for the library's collection.

A wonderful NPS volunteer will open the Lighthouse on Mondays from 1–3pm. You can go in, but not up!

Tuesday, May 24th:

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote Plus One" at 8pm every Tuesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

Wednesday, May 25th:

Art Opening for Crystal Canterbury at Down Creek Gallery, 5–8pm. Come out to meet Crystal, and enjoy an evening of live music by April Trueblood and Kim France. There'll be tasty refreshments, too! Crystal's show is the season-opener Summer Kick-Off in the twice-monthly "Expose Yourself to Art" series of receptions at the gallery.

Athletic Awards Assembly at Ocracoke School at 6pm, honoring student-athletes in grades 7–12. Everyone is welcome to the assembly, which will take place in the school gym.

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host "Coyote" (just Marcy and Lou!) at 8pm every Wednesday night. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

Thursday, May 26th:

Live music with Martin and Lou at Ocracoke Oyster Co! They'll play 3–6pm every Thursday all summer. Good times! 

Coloring Night at Books to Be Red! Come out to color your stress away! 6:30–8:30pm. Books to Be Red provides coloring pages, crayons and markers, and refreshments, and it's FREE! Not sure what Coloring Night is? Read this story and find out!

The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department will hold their every-other-Thursday meeting at the Fire Hall at 7pmThey can always use new members! You can also stop by and get a way-cool OVFD t-shirt or order your reflective house number signs (so OVFD and Ocracoke EMS can find you!)

Friday, May 27th:

Music at the Coyote Den! The Coyote Den is in the Community Square, and will host Martin Garrish and Friends "Playing Your Ocracoke Memories" every Friday night from March 25th – November 18th. More info at www.coyotemusic.net

Saturday, May 24th:

"All the Island's a Stage" Spring Showcase by Ocracoke School of Performing Arts! Singing, Dancing, Face-painting, Bubbles, Games, Hula-hoops, A Pirate Show, Tasty Treats and A 50/50 Raffle! What a great way to kick-off your Memorial Day weekend! Bring fun-lovers of all ages to see our Ocracoke kids showing off what they've been working on since March! 

11th Annual Firemen's Ball!!!! 5:00pm BBQ dinner, 7:00pm Live Auction, 8:00pm Dance! 

Sunday, May 29th:

Ocracoke Community Park is the place to be on Sunday afternoons. Come on out to join in Pick-Up Softball at 5pm. Fun and games!
