Monday, August 31:

Ocracoke School PTA meeting, 3:30pm in the commons. 

Passenger ferries!! Find out all about them at tonight's meeting when the NCDOT ferry division bigwigs tell us the results of their passenger ferry study and survey. Drop by anytime between 5 – 7pm at the Community Center. 

Tuesday, September 1: 

Whoa! Is it really September already? 

The Ocracoke Soccer Dolphins will play their second ever game, this time at Camden County High School. Fear the Pod!

Coyote Plus One hosts their last show of the season at the Community Center at 8pm. Marcy and Lou will be joined on stage by sultry songstress Kim France. Doors open at 7:30pm and admission is $15 (free for kids under 12.) Not on Ocracoke? The live show will be broadcast on the web at concertwindow.com/coyote (cost = $1). 

Wednesday, September 2:

Been hankering for more soundside access on Ocracoke? You're not alone! Join Hyde County and NPS in the discussion at a meeting to discussed improved public soundside access, 5:30-7:30pm at the Community Center.

Family Movie Night at the Library! Once a month, Ocracoke Library will host a family movie night. This month's movie is the 2014 remake of the musical "Annie!" All are welcome to this free event!

Color-Con Coloring Party at Books to Be Red! Stop by between 6:30 – 8:30pm to experience the soothing sensation of coloring for grown-ups. It's trendy, it's cool, and it's right here on Ocracoke. Refreshments, too! 

The Ocrafolk Opry is back for its 15th season at Deepwater Theater. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for youngens. Show starts at 8pm; doors open at 7:30pm. Performers this week include, but are not limited to, Molasses Creek, Rob Temple, Kim France, Philip Howard, and yours truly. Opry shows will run through September 23rd, so please come see us while you have the chance!

Thursday, September 3:

Come out to see and hear Molasses Creek in concert at Deepwater Theater! The show starts at 8pm (doors open at 7:30); admission is $15 adults/$7 kids.

Friday, September 4:

Village Thrift is having a 1/2 price sale on everything starting Friday. Cheap stuff even cheaper and all proceeds benefit Ocracoke Youth Center! Open 11am-5pm.

Book-signing at Books to Be Red, 5–7pm. Former Ocracoke resident Walkin' Marty Harris will sign copies of his book WHAT THE ROAD PASSES BY: A Photographic Collection of People and Places in North Carolina. Marty walked across the state of NC in late 1987 and the photographs show some of the wonderful people he met along the way.

Porch Sale, 8am–1pm at 241 Cutting Sage Road. Something for everyone! Great items for winter craft projects, artwork, mirrors, some small furniture, vases, crystal. Follow red arrows from Pirate's Chest gift shop.
