The Hyde County Office of Planning and Economic Development and the County Manager’s Office will sponsor a public meeting on September 2, 2015 to discuss potential improvements to soundside access on Ocracoke Island.
The community is encouraged to attend and provide valuable input regarding possible options for improved public access to the Pamlico Sound. County officials are particularly interested in suggested sites for new soundside access or enhancements to existing access points, including amenities for a variety of uses.
Hyde County has invited the National Park Service to join the discussion. Superintendent of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Dave Hallac, has confirmed he will attend and provide feedback regarding options presented by the public.
The meeting will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in the Ocracoke Community Center, 999 Irvin Garrish Hwy, Ocracoke, N.C.
